Join Us In Making
A Difference

The Veterans Legal Institute® is constantly seeking pro bono attorneys, paralegals and other patriots to assist our clientele. The need for legal services in the low income veteran community is immense; donate your time and services in the following areas:

  • Estate planning
  • Consumer law
  • Military law
  • Expungements
  • Family law
  • Landlord-tenant law
  • Veteran and Government Benefits
  • And more!

VLI is available to train newer attorneys and law firms in discharge upgrades and veterans benefits in exchange for them accepting a case pro bono.

Don’t feel like practicing law? Try one of our non-legal ways to get involved, like boosting our fundraising and marketing efforts. You can join a planning committee for our exciting Lawyers for Warriors fundraiser!

Please click here to enter your information if you would like to volunteer or email us a copy of your resume and desired practice areas at info@vetslegal.org.

For any questions, please contact Katie Binkley at kbinkley@vetslegal.org.

TRAINING AND EVENTS

The Veterans Legal Institute® hosts multiple trainings, legal clinics and other events for the benefit of the military community and its supporters throughout the year. Check back here for the latest information on upcoming programs.

Should you be interested in co-hosting a training with VLI or supporting an event, please email kbinkley@vetslegal.org

Employment & Internships

VLI welcomes applications from law school graduates whose schools provide post-graduate funded fellowships to further its mission to serve the low income veteran community. We do not have an application form separate from those used by the organizations that fund the fellowships. If you are interested in participating in a fellowship program where you help low income veterans, please send a letter of inquiry to opportunities@vetslegal.com.

VLI is an equal opportunity employer.

Please choose Veterans Legal Institute (VLI) as a recipient of cy pres funds!

We hope you will join the many attorneys and firms across California that help support VLI by including our organization as a recipient of cy pres funds.
